Easy Crockpot Chablis Chicken

Image via Wikipedia

This easy crockpot chicken recipe gets its name from the use of wine in this dish.  This dish is going to have a lovely white Chablis for flavoring. Don’t worry, all the alcohol will burn off in the cooking leaving you only with a delicious flavor that will surprise and delight you.  This, like with most crock pot dishes is easy and quick to get started.  All you have to do is leave it on to cook whether you are home or not. It will be ready when you are. Since this dish does need to cook for 8 hours you need to plan ahead a little.

Chablis Crockpot Chicken

serves 8

What you need:

  • 8 chicken thighs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (5 ounce) jar pimento-stuffed green olives
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 1/4 cups Chablis wine
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

What you do:

Get out your crockpot and throw everything in and stir. (frozen chicken will be fine)

Turn on the crockpot and let it cook for 8 hours.  The key to crockpot cooking is NOT to open the crockpot. So just let it be and let it cook.

Make it a meal:

This would be really nice served over a nice basmati or Jasmine rice. There are already veggies in the dish, but if you want even more you could always add a nice side salad to finish it off.  You can always add a nice crunchy bread to this dish, it will be nice to grab some of the juice with.

What did we think?

YUM YUM YUM. That’s what we thought. It is delicious, and like most crockpot dishes it’s very easy to throw it all in and cook. This would be a nice dish for a family gathering. It would give you a chance to spend time with your guests instead of in the kitchen.
