Easy Crockpot Cheesy Chicken
This is a perfect recipe if you want an easy meal you can simply set and forget. You can throw it all in the crockpot and come back later to a ready made meal. It would be a nice dish for a get together with friends. Cooking with the crockpot for dinner parties allows you to actually spend time with your guests instead of in the kitchen!
Cheesy Crockpot Chicken
serves 4
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 2 cans condensed cream of Cheddar cheese soup
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
What to do:
This one is really easy. Toss your chicken breasts in the crockpot ~ yes, frozen is fine. Give them a shake of salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Mix up the soups and milk, add a little more garlic powder.
Pour over the chicken. Cover and cook for 6-8 hours on low. Leave the lid on!!
Make it a meal:
You can add some mixed veggies in the last 30 minutes if you would like. I would serve this over brown rice or a nice basmati rice. The sauce will be like a nice cheesy gravy. For those who will only eat broccoli with cheese this is the perfect dish to serve broccoli with, you don’t have to make an extra cheese sauce.
What did we think?
I love the crockpot. Just about anything that comes out of there tastes amazing, and this dish is no different. If you are concerned about the milk curdling in this dish, I suggest you use the lowest fat content milk you possibly can. Skim is best, but 2% should work fine. The most important thing to remember is to not take the lid off of this while it’s cooking. Also try to make sure your crockpot is at least 2/3 full. This will decrease the likelihood of any burning.
