Easy Chicken Recipe ~ Crockpot Vietnamese Chicken
I love using my crockpot and found this really easy chicken recipe for Vietnamese chicken. It is so easy, and you can put it on before you leave the house frozen chicken and all and it will be ready when you get home. You can’t beat that.
Easy Crockpot Vietnamese Chicken
What you need:
4-6 chicken pieces of chicken (i use quarters, but thighs or drumsticks will work too)
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp fish sauce (you can find this in the asian section of your grocery)
1 1/2 tsp white sugar
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 cloves chopped garlic (from a jar works fine)
1 Tbsp oil (canola or vegetable will work)
Here’s what you do:
1. Throw the chicken in the crockpot, frozen solid is fine.
2. combine the ingredients in a small bowl and mix it together.
3. Pour it over the chicken
4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. You can also cook it on high for 3 to 4 hours. Your cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your chicken, whether it’s frozen or fresh and how many pieces you put in.
5. Eat and enjoy!
Make it a meal:
I highly suggest having some nice long grain rice with this dish. The sauce is delicious on top of rice. You can add some mixed chinese vegetables or even plain old peas to make it a meal.
What did we think?
We loved it. My husband, a very picky eater ate it without complaint. I did not mention it had fish sauce in it, that may have changed things
. Our little one is a toddler, she’s not a picky eater and she ate it right up. I love this recipe. It’s so easy. I can set it and forget it and go on and get my work done through out the day. I don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner when it rolls around.
