This is a quick and easy chicken dish that is something different. Plain old chicken breast can get pretty boring. This dish will take you out of boring and right into yummy. If you have never tried asparagus, you are in for a treat. This is a great dish, whether it’s a regular family weeknight or if you are having company. The presentation can be dressed up for a nice dinner for company.

Grab a zip top bag and add the teriyaki sauce, honey, garlic and white wine. Salt and pepper your chicken and then add to the bag. Mush it around to coat. Let it sit for an hour ~ overnight is even better. (you could do this part before leaving for work, and then have it ready when you get home)
Preheat your oven to 375.
When you are ready to cook your chicken pull it out of the marinade and throw the marinade out. Arrange your chicken breasts in a baking dish and bake for 15 minutes ~ or until almost cooked through.
Steam your asparagus.
After baking chicken for 15 minutes pull them out and arrange 4 pieces of asparagus on top of the chicken breasts. Then top with a piece of swiss cheese.
Throw them back in the oven and let them cook for another 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked and cheese is melted and bubbly.
This dish would be nice served over a bed of rice pilaf (which you can make from a box), or even with a nice noodle side dish. You already have your veggie included. You could also add a nice crunchy bread with this to finish off the meal.
I thought it was different and delicious. Hubby’s not a big fan of asparagus, but ate the chicken and thought it was good. I think the key with this one is to use a white wine that you really like. It will add a great flavor to the chicken and it will be a flavor you like.
