Italian Chicken Bow Tie Pasta

Uncooked farfalle

Image via Wikipedia

This is a very basic chicken and pasta recipe. You can use it as it is or you can add some flavors that are your favorite. This would be great for a picnic, a family get together, a child’s lunch and of course dinner.  You can also use your own dressing, but one from a bottle works just fine.

Italian Chicken Bow Tie Pasta

serves 4

What you need:

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves – cooked
  • 1 (16 ounce) package bowtie pasta
  • 1 (8 ounce) bottle Italian-style salad dressing
  • 1 tomato, chopped

You could also add ~ sliced black olives, sliced green/red peppers, cucumbers, mushrooms ~ or any other veggie you love.

What you do:

Add 2/3 c dressing to cubed chicken and stir it all up.

Cook the pasta according to the box.  Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water to cool. Add the pasta to your chicken and dressing mixture.  Add more dressing to coat ~ or to your tastes ~ and then throw in the chopped tomato. Toss them in and serve it up.

Make it a meal:

You can easily make this a meal simply by adding a few extra veggies to this dish. The meat and pasta is already included.

What did we think?

I always take this to family gatherings. There is usually no other meat besides hot dogs and I hate those. This way I get to bring a tasty dish ~ that everyone asks for the recipe ~ and I get to have a little more nutrition at my family gatherings. :)
